Christians proving their inteligence

Mom of the year let her daughter die from undiagnosed diabetes. She thought that the kid was sick because of demonic attacks and prayed for spiritual healing. Isn't there some minimum skills test for parenting?

A poem

Hi Internet I wrote you a poem.

Old mother Hubbard lived in a shoe
Old mother Hubbard sometimes ate cat poo
Old mother Hubbard's walls were made of lead
That might be why she wasn't right in the head
She had some touble speaking and sometimes she said
Rah Bazah-haha foopy doopy hoo hoo

Dirt pile

This is the area of my lawn known as pool hole. It's the bane of my lawn mowers existance. The mower can't get through this area that used to have a pool on it. I have thrown dirt rocks and anything else in the hole for two years and not managed to fill it.

A challenger has appeared! An epic struggle between pool hole and dirt pile is now raging. Eventually the pool hole will lose unless my back gives out first. I have a shovel and I'm not giving up DAMNIT!

MMMM Beer

This Sam Adams White Ale is pretty darn good stuff. It's a little bitter but very crisp and refreshing.

Don't take it home with you

I was talking to someone today about how work especially anything government funded in Michigan is getting very stressful lately. At some point I mentioned that it's not bad so long as you don't take it home with you, it being the work stress. He responded with "How do you not take it home with you?" which is difficult sometimes.
It's hard to leave work stress at work and live the parts of life that are supposed to be fun without worrying about work. I like to think that I manage it pretty well though. I have been trying to come up with some tips on how to separate work stress from real life.

1. The organization was there before you and will be there after you leave, quit thinking that everything rests on your shoulders.

2. If you put in an honest day stop worrying about what's left to be done, you're only one person.

3. You will never make everyone happy no matter how hard you work.

4. What's the point of having a job if you take the stress home with you? Enjoy the results of your labor, if you don't there was no point to doing the labor.

Mondays

Monday is a strange day in my house. I have the typical Monday blues that most 9-5 office workers have but Rachel is the opposite. Monday is her day off after a weekend of retail hell so she likes Mondays. It's an amusing contrast that I'm tired and grumpy but she's happy to have a day off.

The Media

What happened to journalism in America? I'm a news junkie and maybe I'm wrong but I think it gets harder every day to find reporters reporting facts. What makes it worse is that all the major TV media outlets are guilty of this. Why are opinion poles and biased pundits replacing reporters stating the facts?

Here's is the definition of pundit from Merriam-Webster, a person who gives opinions in an authoritative manner usually through the mass media. That's my problem with every news outlet interviewing these people, they are just giving opinions not facts.
Whats worse is that there is no criteria for being a pundit, any biased blowhard can get on the news and make up stuff.

My prime example that led me to this post was Fox news the other day. They were letting everyone know about a hate crimes bill that's in the House right now. Did they give an accurate summary of the bill and report where party lines were going to vote on it? No of course not, they made up stories about how transvestites with stump fetishes will be able to rape veterans and anyone trying to stop them would go to be guilty of a hate crime! I double checked and that pundit was totally wrong and just spreading nonsense.

They never even bothered to sum up actual wording of the bill they were talking about. This is why I listen to the BBC instead of U.S. news most of the time.
